Biographical Text
Odo Deodatus I. Tauern studied natural sciences in Berlin and Freiburg and received his doctorate in 1907. He joined the "II. Freiburg Moluccan Expedition" as anthropologist and offered to oversee technical matters. He was well versed in filmmaking and interested in alpine sports, which led him to found the "Berg- und Sport-Film GmbH" with other enthusiasts in Freiburg. In 1926 he had a fatal accident while climbing at Paulkefelsen in the Black Forest.
